  1. Of course you can celebrate, but make it a family thing.  You don't want to be inviting his friends to a "potty trained" party or the other moms are going to feel like you're bragging.  By all means make some cupcakes or something and tell him he did great.

I don't know how long he's been potty trained for, but also don't set yourself up for disappointment if he's very recently trained and he backslides a little.  Many kids are really excited about the potty and do great when they first start and then decide it's not that interesting and go back to having accidents.  Your son may not do that at all, but if he does, just realize it's normal and no big deal, especially at his age.

  2. In order to encourage our twins to potty train we told them that once they were wearing big boy underwear all the time they would get to chose a "big" present from the store. Then we went and bought them. It was really cool for them to be able to chose exactly what they wanted. And the whole time that they were potty training they talked about what they would get.

  3. Its all your opinion. However, I probably would not go as far as having a party. If you smile and clap and give him rewards, there should be no reason he doesnt see how proud you are of him. If you throw a party he may think every time he accomplishes something, you will throw a party, invite lots of people and have cake. I wouldnt start something your not willing to go through with every accomplishment. (accomplishments including:potty training, brushing teeth, reading, writing, talking, going to school, getting on a bus) those are a few examples..are you really up to throwing him partties for all of those? Just keep giving him love and showing him how proud you are of him! Your doing fine! Dont worry about everyone else.
