Yaya Toure: Manchester City can become a better side than Spanish giants Barcelona
The Ivorian international, Yaya Toure claimed that Manchester City are going in the right direction to become a more superior side than Barcelona. The 27-year-old, who completed his £28-million transfer move last year from Barcelona
to City, believes that the recent heavy investments from the club owner, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, will help Roberto Mancini’s team surpassing Pep Guardiola's side in the next two years.
The Blue’s Midfielder said "You cannot compare Barcelona with City right now because Barca are at the top and have top-quality players. They have Leo Messi, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dani-Alves-c9869, who are fantastic. But we are still
signing new players. In a couple of years we could be better than Barcelona."
Manchester City did remarkably well in this English Premier League season as they are placed third in the League table just behind Manchester United and Arsenal. The Blues are hopeful to get silverware in their ongoing FA cup or
UEFA Europa League campaign, which is also ranked as the second most prestigious championship after UEFA Champions League. Until now, they have successfully reached the top 16 of FA Cup and in the final 32 of Europa League.
The club owner has successfully brought many big shots from various clubs at Eastlands. The likes of David Silva, Carlos Tavez and Toure himself are some of the big names that make up the City squad.
The 27-year-old Toure further said that in order to make this dream come true of becoming a paramount side on the planet, they as a team need to work hard and should put their best efforts to achieve this obsession. The Ivory Coast
player is hopeful that the Blues will make their way into the next year’s UEFA Champions League by finishing in the top four of this Barclays Premier League.
The midfielder further added “Our target is still to be in the Champions League next year - that is very important for this club”.
Liverpool and Chelsea have not yet writen-off their chances of getting through to the top four teams of this English Premier League season which is a worrying sign for the Light Blues. Toure admitted that it will be tough for them
to retain their third position as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have the skills to surpass them.
Traditionally, Toure is assumed as a defensive midfielder but Robert http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has used him as an attacking option by believing in his great technique and physical supremacy. He once broke the record of earning the highest amount
of money in a week by surpassing a £200,000 a week.
