Yaya Toure delighted with helping Manchester City beat Villarreal – Champions League Update
Manchester City midfielder and Ivory Coast international, Yaya Toure has gone on to admit that he is overwhelmed after having played such a crucial part in City’s win over Villarreal.
City took on the Spanish side in the Champions League and despite the game being played in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, City took to the game as though it was a home game.
Following a penalty conversion by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 and a brace by Yaya Toure, City went on to pick up all three points from their game, as they took a massive step forward, in hopes of qualifying for the knock out stages of the tournament.
Toure, who was a crucial part of the City side, as he scored two goals, which made the team’s victory a whole lot easier, seems to think this is the first time he scored two goals in one game.
When talking about the game and his contributions in it, Toure is quoted to have said: “I think it’s the first time I’ve scored two goals in one game”
“It’s fantastic for me, but I’m very happy with the result. The most important thing is that the team won and is doing well.”
The powerful midfielder then went on to admit that City had been performing extremely well in recent weeks and the results that they were getting were due to the hard work that they have constantly been putting in. At the same time, he believes there is
now a new sense of confidence floating around the ground and it is only a matter of time, before City show the world just what they are capable of.
“The team is doing well every week, every three days,” he continued.
“We have to keep improving and working hard in our training ground, and I think everybody is confident.
“The team is doing fantastically and it’s good for the club and the fans.”
Toure then went on to admit that the match was now over, so the team now needed to focus on their upcoming games and move on from the draw win over Villarreal.
Should the team be able to do just that, then City are more than likely to go on and win a number of trophies this season. The form and class that City are showing at the moment is unmatchable and it is only a matter of time, before the team starts creating
history.
The way things are shaping up, it might not be long before there are two teams in Manchester, who contest for the Premier League crown, week in and week out.
