Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has admitted he is disappointed with City’s dip in form, but feels that his absence had nothing to do with it.
Before leaving for the African Cup of Nations, Toure was part of the City side that went on to beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 by three goals to nil. However, ever since he left for the AFCON, City have managed to fall out of the Carling Cup and the FA Cup competitions.
At the same time, the League leaders went on to lose to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 by one goal to nil and are now in the number one spot, only because of their superior goal difference.
The Ivory Coast international has admitted that it is very hard to see his side get beat so many times, but still feels that this dip in form is not because of his absence from the team.
When talking about City and how they are playing these days, Toure is quoted to have said: "I've suffered watching the games on the TV and it's my natural instinct to help my team-mates"
"The defeats have been painful because I wanted to win three titles but I don't think it's because of my absence. I'm not indispensable.”
The midfielder then went on to praise David Silva and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero, as he feels the two have an instinctive connection with him and that he can’t wait to link up with the dup once again.
Toure then went on to add: "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.”
"It's a pleasure to play with him because he's so impressive. Aguero is also a great player and it feels we are connected.”
City have been lacking Toure’s physical presence in their midfield, ever since the player left for the AFCON.
Looking at Fellaini dominate City’s midfielder last night, just went on to add to this assessment made by numerous experts.
However, with Toure set to return to the Premier League in the near future, it is now up to the team to control the amount of damage that they are suffering in the player’s absence.
