Manchester City’s midfield enforcer Yaya Toure has come out and said that he would’ve loved to stay at Barcelona for a longer time in his career if only it wasn’t for his shaky relationship with Pep Guardiola. When Guardiola took
over at Barcelona, he reinvigorated the team and in recent years, the Spaniard has turned Barcelona into one of the best club footballing sides in the history of the game.
The Catalan giants won the UEFA Champions League last season by defeating Manchester United by three goals to one at the Wembley stadium and before that they won their domestic league. In the last two years, Barcelona have won
the Spanish league twice which makes them the undisputed giants of La Liga. Manchester City bought Yaya Toure from Barcelona in the summer of 2010 and ever since his arrival at the City of Manchester stadium, the Ivorian midfielder has helped City to their
first trophy in over 34 years when last season the Blues won the F.A Cup.
Furthermore, City are at the moment at the top of the English Premier League table with a five point advantage over Manchester United as they defeated their local rivals by six goals to one at Old Trafford in their latest league
encounter. However Toure has now come out and stated that he would’ve stayed at Barcelona rather than moving away to Manchester City if he had a better relationship with Pep Guardiola.
The Manchester City midfielder said, "Whenever I asked Guardiola something, he always gave strange answers. He pretty much ignored me until City's offer came in. That's why I eventually opted to leave. I didn't speak to Guardiola
for a year. If he had talked to me, I would have stayed at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604. I did not want to go and wanted to end my career at Barcelona. However, he had no faith in me. I wanted to stay put, but he didn't want me to stay."
Nonetheless, Toure is now one of the highest paid players in the English Premier League and if City continue their present run of form, there is a large possibility that they will win the English Premier League come May, 2012 and
take away the champions crown from Manchester United.
