Yaya Toure unsure about leaving Manchester City for African Cup of nations later than everyone else
Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure has gone on to admit that he is a little unsure about leaving for the African Cup of nations later than everyone else, after being given special permission to stay back.
The midfielder was going to miss out on Manchester City’s FA Cup game against Manchester United and was also going to missing for the Carling Cup game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. However, it seems like the player will be allowed to stay back and play those games.
The player is more than happy about staying back, but feels that his loyalty is being tested by his club and country and this has left in a rather tough position.
The Ivory Coast international went on to admit that his participation was very important for his country, but looking at the fact that two of the most important months of the season were coming up for his team, he was very unsure over what to do.
Toure, when talking about the situation that he finds himself in, is quoted to have said: "Our country needs people like myself and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 because there is a war and it's important we do what we can for our people, but this is also a crucial time
of the season.
“There are two crucial months coming up and now I am going to miss one of them.
“The team, the club and the manager need me, but I will have to go away and play in a different competition.
"It's difficult as I am very focused for City and we need all the players.”
The Cup of nations is set to kick off on January 21st and will see Ivory Coast play their first game on the 22nd of January against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sudan-c3012.
Despite the fixture seemingly being an easy one for the team, Toure’s presence in the midfield would more than likely help his team out and make them perform even better.
Nonetheless, it is now up to the midfielder himself, to decide whether he wants to stay back, or participate in the Cup of Nations from the very first day of the tournament.
