Manchester City midfielder, Yaya Toure feels that his team need to win at least one trophy this season, if the team wants to do justice to the way they have been playing all season long.
Apart from being on top of the Premier League table, City have started to prove their worth in the Europa League.
The team faced off against reigning champions Porto, but went on to make short work of their opponents.
City won the first leg of their game by two goals to one and last night, the team crushed the Portuguese side by four goals to nil.
As a result, the team is now in the next round of the tournament, but seem to be the favourites to win the competition this time around.
Yaya Toure, who has been one of the most influential players in the City squad this year, admitted that he had a lot of fun playing in the game, but wants the team to maintain their performances.
When talking about the Europa League and just how interesting the competition has started to become, the midfielder is quoted to have said: "It was such a fantastic game today"
"I think the yellow card was difficult for me, but I hope my team-mates will be strong and we will have Sporting [Lisbon] or another team [Legia Warsaw] so hopefully they can win there too.”
The Ivory Coast international then went on to end on a high, as he admitted that City have a very good chance of winning the Europa League this year, while claiming that it was crucial for the team to win at least one trophy.
"It is a very important year for the club and now we have to fight for them and we have to go on now in the Europa League, it’s very important for us to win something this year."
The way City have been playing this season, it would be hard to see them end the season without any silverware.
Nonetheless, should they avoid any massive setbacks or slip ups, City could easily go on and achieve the Premier League and Europa League double.
