Ye Min stamps Kazys Tamasauskas to clear first round of Yonex Canada Open 2012
Men’s Singles shuttler Ye Min Aung of Myanmar registered his presence by ousting Kazys Tamasauskas in opening encounter of Yonex Canada Open on July 11, 2012.
This first round match proved tough trial of their mental and physical strength as it lasted for 42 minutes before giving decisive figures of 10-21, 21-17 and 21-17.
Kazys Tamasauskas, who belongs to Canada, was the hot favourite in this encounter but he could not live up to the expectations and crashed out of the home event in a shameful manner.
On the other hand, Ye Min played with great conviction and proved all the predictions wrong in the ending two sets.
The first set of the match turned completely one-sided as the local shuttler relished full benefits of the home ground and crowd to finish this segment of the show with a notable difference.
Kazys laid foundation of his supremacy by piling up a mountainous total of 7-1 and then carried this rhythm all the way to mid-game break.
He maintained this six-point lead until 11-5 and entered the second half with a psychological edge.
Later part of the game saw him in prime touch as he did not give the opposing shuttler even a single chance to proceed and finished the opening game with an overwhelming margin of 21-10.
Following segment of the show was full of drama as at one stage the Canadian campaigner was in strong position to seal a straight-set victory but Ye Min came in his way and claimed crucial match point.
The spirited Myanmar shuttler stood tall in final moments of the game and dazzled his challenger with a lustrous performance.
In first half of the set, Kazys prevailed in opening rallies and placed a respectable figure of 6-3. He mounted pressure by reaching at score position of 11-7 before the interval.
However, Ye Min woke up in time and delivered a stunner in the second half. He caught his rival at 13-13 and then swept the table with a staggering knock of 21-17.
The decider was a replay of the previous set as Ye Min locked the honour with similar score of 21-17 and setup a second round clash with David Obernosterer of Austria.
