Ye Shiwen clinches Women’s 800m freestyle relay title: 2011 Chinese National City Games
Ye Shiwen put up a stunning show and impressed the arena in Nanchang, China, on Friday, October 21. Shiwen went on to win the Women’s 800m freestyle relay title, while Li Xiang took home the Men’s 200m breast-stroke crown. Finally, Li Tingting won Women’s
200m butterfly title and He Jianbin claimed Men’s 100m freestyle crown.
Ye Shiwen beat her rivals along with her partners, Fu Yuanhui and Shao Yiwen in a vital swimming race by thrashing the finishing wall in a scintillating time of 8 minutes and 01.04 seconds to win Women’s 800m freestyle relay title. Meanwhile, the silver
title went to Dingmeng with a matchless mark of 8 minutes and 04.14 seconds and Shanghai Minhang took home the bronze medal with a time of 8 minutes and 06.19 seconds.
On the other hand, the Men’s 200m breast-stroke title was taken over by Li Xiang with a fastest time of 2 minutes and 12.34 seconds. In the meantime, Huang Chao claimed silver title on the podium by thrashing the finishing wall in a time of 2 minutes and
12.46 seconds and Sun Chenwei settled for bronze title in a time of 2 minutes and 16.33 seconds.
Additionally, the Women’s 200m butterfly crown was clinched by Li Tingting with a winning time of 2 minutes and 09.79 seconds. The silver medal went to Li Shuang with a time of 2 minutes and 11.00 seconds, whereas, Sun Lulu took home the bronze title with
a time of 2 minutes and 12.26 seconds.
Last, but not the least, He Jianbin clinched the Men's 100m freestyle title by hitting the finishing wall in a time of 49.69 seconds, while Zeng Xianliang earned silver title by posting a stunning time of 49.94 seconds.
Nanchang’s crowd was impressed due to the scintillating efforts of all swimmers, Ye Shiwen, Li Xiang, Li Tingting and He Jianbin, while the best athletes were honoured with medals after the session’s completion.
The 2011 Chinese National City Games are providing an exciting opportunity to all young guns of China, as the event will allow them to prepare themselves hard for their upcoming meets of competitive swimming.
