Ye Sun captures Women’s 200m breast-stroke crown: Day three – 2011 World University Games
Ye Sun of China dominated the swim meet on day three of the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China, on Tuesday, August 16. The session of the event organised the Women’s 200m breast-stroke final.
In the corresponding race, Sun took home the gold medal on the podium by posting a record time of 2 minutes and 24.63 seconds. Earlier, Sun set the fastest time of 2 minutes and 24.24 seconds at the 2011 Chinese Nationals, in April. Ye snared two silver
medals in the 4x100m medley and 200m breast-stroke finals at the 2010 and 2011 editions of the World Championships, in Dubai and Shanghai, respectively.
In addition, Sun secured the bronze medal in the 4x100m medley meet at the 2008 Olympic Games, in Beijing. Moreover, she secured the gold medal in the 200m breast-stroke meet at the 2009 Asian Champs, Foshan. Furthermore, Ye Sun grabbed the golden crown
in 200m breast-stroke race at the 2011 Summer Universiade, in Shenzhen.
Meanwhile, Andrea Kropp of United States clinched the silver medal on the podium by posting an impressive time of 2 minutes and 26.18 seconds. That splash moved her to 21st place in the current rankings of world swimming.
