Does it seem like we are loosing our national identity? We have the Olympics coming up, should that strengthen us or just make us more of a European *****?

  1. there's more people flooding in this country than we have british now

    were getting a charity case

  2. its racist to be british well that's what it feels like

  3. im not british..but i don't think u guys are losing your national identity

  4. As a Scot exiled in England I find it astonishing how little identity the English have.

Almost everyone I knew in Scotland was proud of their country, and proud to be from it. All I hear down here are people whining about the state of the country and apologising for being British.

I find it very sad that the English have so little pride in them selves or their country.

Perhaps that says it all. A Scot is a Scot no matter where they live, but an Englishman is just someone who lives in Britain.

The only time the English seem to take any pride in their nationality is when there is some football tournament on, and given the results their team usually gets I would have thought  that that was the least likely time to be proud of being English!

  5. We lost our National Identity years ago and the Olympics will do chuff all to put us back!

St George's day - Ignored, when all other countries (Ireland, Scotland Wales) have a d**n good pee'up at least!

English Flag  - "Owned" by the nasty BNP and their ilk

    What is left?

Christmas lights have to be "Winter Festival" lights to avoid offending perceived "foreigners", people who on the whole are hugely respectful of our traditions and are more than happy to embrace them

The Uk Gov sold out long ago!

and no one asked them to....

  6. everyone is losing it. americans too.

my country used to be so amazing. now people are ruining it. and it's not bush and that's for d**n sure.

i'm sorry y'all are losing your national identity too.

    it's sad = [

just try to keep it alive.

i would think the olympics would strengthen countries. you're united for something...

  7. dear britisher,

internet,e mail, www,  womens freedom, unlimited s*x is changing the whole world.

    not only united kingdom.

    nothing is permanent.

    so donot worry about.

olympics cannot contribute.its a business event.

youth are corrupted due to dole money, bad behaviour, stabbings and so on.

hence concentrate to give a good path to your youngsters.

  8. I am trying hard to guess the word behind the stars. Anyway, I am tired of hearing people say "we are losing our national identity,"  its c**p. We never had one in the first place.

And what has Great Britain's Olympics got to do with Europe? France lost, remember?

I sometimes wonder what country these serial whingers are living in. It isn't often any sane person wants to fly a Union Flag or St George's Flag (we already know what country we are in, don't we?) All this talk of "winter festivalmas" is just utter bollocks spread by crappy right wing rags like the Express. The truth is you can ask 60 million Brits to define Britishness and get 60 million answers. It is, in reality, everything the whingers hate - diverse, tolerant and free.

  9. Hi

The Darkened Man took the words out of my mouth, I don't care what anyone says, I was born British from British parents and I'll die British and don't any of you forget Hundreds of Thousands of our British ancestors (of all skin colours) have died fighting to keep Britain British and to retain and protect our way of life.

    Ray. West York's. U.K.

  10. National pride? I'm not just British I'm ENGLISH by God
