Yeah, I have a fender guitar I am new at playing guitar a little help.?

I am just having trouble learning how to play songs. I only know a few notes from Deep Purples Smoke on the Water. I really want to learn kryptnoites intro and other songs. Any pointers or books I should buy? I am also having difficulty reading tabs for songs. Can anyone help me?

Hey! You don't become jimmy hendrix over night! You have to practice practice and more practice. just do some scales G and C and F scale. then practice those and then learn some basic chords and then practice your basic chords. and then learn some easy 10 chord songs. Then practice your ten chord songs. Then you can play the solo! but remember don't do it all in one night it takes about two years to become good a guitar! so just wait. it'll be worth it!

You might be tying to tackle the instrument a little too quickly. I'd start on some scales and modes first, and then work your way up to playing songs afterwards.
