I have recently been doing coursework in business studies, our task was to open up a pretend shop of our choice and i chose a pizza shop. We have many things to do, such as find out the cost of advertising at a TV station, radio station, newspapers, billboards etc. It has to be in London...is anyone else doing this or can anyone offer any help? Thank you xx

  1. hi, this company do tv and radio ads http://www.jms-group.com/ i'm sure they'd be able to give you some estimate prices to help you with your coursework.

(or if you find companies aren't wanting to help you because there's no sale in it for them then pretend you are a real business needing advertising - they'll help you then!)

there's some interesting info on here about radio ads, and what affects pricing ie. the radios station used, length of ad, time and day of ad http://www.marketingminefield.co.uk/trad...

this company do mobile billboards (on vans etc) so that could give you some new advertising ideas to write about http://www.postersonwheels.com/

hope these help. good luck with your coursework. Rebecca x

  2. You want to advertise?

    Are you for real?

Its supposed to be practice not the real thing, besides it will cost hundreds and thousands to advertise and I don't think that is quite your budget given your age

  3. Okay....

    1) Go straight to your lecturers and ask them for ad rates.

    2) Ask anyone who's been on some internship with a MEDIA PLANNING agency whether they have any ad rates...

    3) Go intern with a media planning agency and grab the ad rates...

    4) call the respective modes and ask for their ad rates, tell em you'll recommend them favourably if they can give a range, ask their contact cause ud probably have to justify where u got those figures in your presentation.

Oh, and when asking ad rates, ask for RATE CARDS. I'm recommending these cause that's what i did during my BBA.

Last option, gauge by anchoring and adjusting.

    Good luck!
