Please help! I am very worried. I am doing French and Latin, but I am not sure about my third elective. I have narrowed it down to four:

Classical/Ancient Greek

Pros: I find languages ridiculously easy and mildly fun, could help me to learn Modern Greek if I wanted to, would be scaled up for VCE Cons: I already going to do one dead language, and there probably isn't much use for Ancient Greek in modern careers

Art (1 semester or whole year)

Pros: I value art, and I'm fairly good at it Cons: I'm not really that creative and professional art is a very difficult field to break into

Drama (1 semester or whole year)

Pros: I like acting, would develop confidence Cons: I hate drama theory, and I've never even been very good at practical drama (although recently I've improved)

Music Performance

Pros: I get free instrumental lessons, I kind of like music Cons: I'm not that into music and I already get enough of it, playing 3 instruments, being in two bands and singing in 1 choir, and being very fussy, I would hate the chance of being in this class with another boy who is very annoying and going to do this topic

Thanks. Will give out 10 points.

  1. You would obviously do well in Ancient Greek however I would try and take a diverse spread of subjects as it will give you more options in the future for possible careers. Taking 3 languages might limit your options. However if you are more likely to get a better grade in that than anything else then I would go for it.

  2. I would go for Greek; you can take performing arts classes another year, because who can honestly say they know Ancient Greek? It'll be fun, and, like Latin, develope your knowledge of the English language, especially with the etymology. In all, it would would look good on your transcript and be an easy A.

  3. do ancient greek because you're obviously going to do well in it.

  4. Do drama, it's good fun!!!

I don't think you should do music if you already have enough of it, it's just a waste of time!!

If you're into music, do musicianship instead. I did it in year 9 and 10. Good fun!! Didn't have to do anything except for playing music and stuff
