  1. he'll be eligible for reenlistment 24 months before his ETS date

from there its pretty simple,he just has to contact his retention NCO

  2. He has to reenlist at the end of his first enlistment.

  3. Within his last year, they'll give him an opportunity to reenlist

  4. Given the present civilian job market, his decision might be a wise one - plenty of benefits and retirement after 20.

    Essentially, he simply reenlists.

  5. make sure he does it in iraq...or afganistan. the bonus is tax free!!!

  6. tell your husband thank you, and all he has to do is re-enlist

  7. If he just enlisted he will want to wait until he is a year from his ETS date.  If he is near that:

    1.  He can wait until they come to him about re-enlisting.

    2.  He can step forward and tell his CO that he wants to re-enlist.

There are many options for re-enlistment right now.

My Hubby just re-enlisted for 2 years because his ETS date was 3 months after the deploy.  It will still allow him to re-enlist over in Iraq and had some nice perks as well.

  8. He can sign a new contract when he is within his last year of that 4 year current contract.
