I am a 17 year old girl. I have had about 5 yeast infections in my lifetime. I have been able to treat them all with Monistat. I have a thick white discharge but my v****a does not itch. Is it a yeast infection?

  1. This is really hard to answer because a lot of non-sexually transmitted diseases and those that are transmitted sexually mimic each other with the same signs and symptoms. The best thing is to have your gynecologist examine you and determine the best treatment for you.

  2. It is possible that you have the infection still and are only displaying one symptom. Many over the counter yeast infection cures work, however, they contain harsh chemicals that can have side effects.

When you are treating yourself, be sure that if you have a partner, that he is being treated as well. Yeast infection in men is not rare and if you have treated yourself while he is still carrying the candida virus, it's likely you will be infected again.

Personally , I would try a natural remedy based on essential oils that has no side effects and can eliminate all forms of your yeast infection, including vaginal thrush and bacterial vaginosis effectively.

  3. It could possibly be.

If you keep having reoccurring infections however, you should go talk to your doctor.

Monistat usually clears up the symptoms for a yeast infection, rather than treat what's causing them.

  4. Could also be a bacterial infection - only a Dr. can tell. Get it checked out before it gets worse.
