Okay so I've gotten yeast infection before but this one won't go away!

I usually get yeast infections when I'm on anti-biotics which I know is normal, is there a chance that this yeast infection hasn't gone away even though I've used Monistat 7 because I was still on the anti-biotics? And now that I'm done both if I use just the cream it comes with will that make it go away? or should I just buy more?

  1. get another thing of monistat it wont work if you are still on the anti-biotics... also eat Yogurt that will help

  2. Talk to your doctor! If you use too much monistat, it can kill a lot of the good (naturally occurring) bacteria, and then cause bacterial vaginosis. It is AWFUL. Talk to your doctor about what to do!!!

  3. I would suggest going to your doctor instead, they can give you a pill for it instead. Using monistat too often can end up making the infections worse each time.

If you'd rather not, wait a few days and try again.

yogurt and acidophilus supplements would help.

  4. I hate that cream stuff so i get the pill from my doctor.

  5. My sympathy, I to suffer badly from yeast. I am now trying to prevent the infections before they start by taking acidophiles and garlic supplements daily. No the topical cream will not make it go away in itself. I would suggest seeing your doctor to make sure it is just a yeast infection, there are several oral meds now that will take care of the problem. You can also infect your partner and pass these wonderful things back and forth. So if you were sexually active while having the infection.. both of you should be treated.

  6. When did you stop using the monistat? It can still take up to another 7 days to fully be rid of a yeast infection. I would wait about 4 days after finishing the meds before giving in and going into the dr., if you can wait that long.
