Yellow flowering tree?

Question

this tree is flowering right now in NE Ohio on shores of Lake Erie- it is VERY fragrant and has little flowers all over- looking closely the flower is actually 7 flowers in a cirlce about the size of a pinky finger nail and one in the middle of the circle making what looks like a bigger flower about the size of a nickle or inbetween nickle and quarter. The leaf is similar to an elm ??
