Yellow top or red top battery??

Question

i have 2 10' fosgate subs and a 1000 watt fosgate amp. lately my battery light has been coming on and the bass starts skipping so its time for a new battery. is yellow top or red top better? what brand? where can i find them? i plan 2 get a high output alternator later anyways. and NO im not getting a capacitor.

Either way you are doing a great upgrade over your stock battery.  The yellow top is a true deep cycle battery so if you have the money then get that.  The red top is also a great battery.  I have heard many people say that it works great for audio systems.

A high output alternator is going to be a very important upgrade as well.  If you do this then you will need to get the big 3 upgrade done as well.  The link below has info on that.

They are both good batteries, but for you specific application of a higher draining system will be the yellow top. You may want to consider getting the HO alternator at the same time if you can afford it, because that yellow top is not going to save your alternator from dying on you if it is in fact no longer charging properly. The batter light does not denote that you just need a new batter is lets you know that the system is charging below normal.
