yes they can, as long as they obey the rules that comes with them, and take care of themselves and the contacts, keep them clean and try not to sleep with the contacts on

No problemo as long as

1) he can handle the lenses

2) he is someone who is particular about hygiene (i.e. no long fingernails that may scratch the eyes, washes hand b4 handling lens)

My 13 year old has them - it's not too soon if they are responsible, and actually, this has caused my son to become more responsible.

Trace is right-- I got them in 7th  grade.  Just make sure you go to a good doctor who will take time teaching you how to put them in and set you up with all the solutions, etc. you'll need.
