I am planing on playing a line backer a guard for XAVIER HIGH SCHOOL SAINTS FOOTBALL!!!! OH YA!!!! and when we get in the huddle and the coach says the play I am like huh? in my head and then i end up getting yelled at. our coaches don't like questions. and i was wondering if anyone could give me a really easy way to remember what to do during plays (i have ADD so it's hard to remember) and also explain to me what the different numbers and like what RIP, slot, trap and all that is and what i do during it.

  1. Dude, you're not going to learn football on yahoo answers.  You need to talk to your coach.  And how are you planning on playing football if you don't know what you're doing?  Are you sure you want to play football?

  2. ADD: Adults Don't Direct.  Pay attention or pay the price, @ssclown.

  3. u play football but u dont know what a play is?a play is on each down, well it hard to explain so just ask ur dad or watch a preseason game(or a couple) to get it.

  4. you have to ask questions. if you are going to be on the field, obviously you need to know what is going on. if you can't ask a coach, ask a team member. if that doesn't work, your team is screwed. best of luck.

  5. all systems are different but most high school systems are usually pretty close. on offense the first number usually refers to the player (like QB is 1, HB is 2, and FB 3) and the second usually is the hole. it sometimes goes like every thing on the left is even number and the right is odd and inbetween the OL is the hole. so a 32. trap is a play in which an OL pulls to the play so you have an extra blocker. slot is generally the number 3 reciever. rip is a defencive move were you swing your arm under the OL and knock his arms away. so if the play is a slot left 23 trap there will be two recievers on the left and one on the right, the running back is going to the right between the guard and tackle, and the trap indicates that the guard on the opposite side is pulling.

hope i help, ill be coaching little league next year
