This is how I feel: "Onset of symptoms generally occurs in adolescence or early adulthood, although cases of BDD onset in children and older adults is not unknown. BDD is often misunderstood to affect mostly women, however research shows that it affects men and women equally. The disorder is linked to significantly diminished quality of life and co-morbid major depressive disorder and social phobia. With a completed-suicide rate more than double than that of major depression, and a suicidal ideation rate of around 80%, BDD is considered a major risk factor for suicide. A person with the disorder may be treated with psychotherapy, medication, or both. Research has shown cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) to be effective in treating BDD. BDD is a chronic illness and symptoms are likely to persist, or worsen, if left untreated."

  1. you need to see a professional.

if it helps at all, you are very pretty!

  2. Possibly. I wouldn't recommend asking people on Yahoo Answers about a possible illness, though. You need a professional.

  3. It's really hard to say if you just read a general description of a disease and see that some of the symptoms fit you. Who knows? You could simply be very very self-concious, or (not necessarily saying you are) but many girls do this for attention and compliments. However, body dismorphic disorder is a very serious psychological disease that can easily spiral out of control. If you truly think there's any chance that you could have it, you need to turn to a psychologist or councellor, not strangers on yahoo answers. No matter what credentials answerers have on this site, nobody can really tell exactly how you're feeling. If you meet with a psychologist in real life, and do a couple of sessions where you can tell them how you're feeling, you may be diagnosed with the disease. If this is the case, I only wish you the best of luck in the future and a successful healing process. If you are in high school  and are too scared to get your parents to take you to a psychiatrist, go to a school counsellor, who will take action as they see fit or you could call a local anonymous helpline (I know in my city its Kid's Help Phone) and ask for some more reccomendations.

    Good luck!

  4. you look fine.

  5. What do you mean that's how you feel?  All you did was give us some medical paragraph explaining some of the symptoms and consequences of BDD.  Only a professional is going to be able to accurately diagnose whether or not you have BDD.  Just feeling you're ugly is not what BDD is.  That's just low self-esteem.  If you really suspect that you have a problem, then go see a doctor or discuss with your parents about seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist if you're not of age.

  6. Yes! I see nothing wrong with you your pretty. If you truly feel that way your probably suffering from low self esteem about other things that have happened in your life and you falsely attribute it to the way you look. I'm not a doctor so I have no way of really knowing but I recommend you seek counseling if you really feel that depressed. You probably just have some issues in your life you need to take care of.

  7. You are very cute. You didn't really say what your personal feelings are. If you feel you have BDD you should see a doctor or therapist, you have no reason to have such strong negative feelings about your body. Talking to someone may help you gain some perspective and see that the way you perceive yourself is unrealistic.

  8. if thats how u feel how *** u can post ya pic on the net?????????your just a sado lookin for compliments borin get a life
