Especially after hours. Would you feel right if your mate didnt try to have a conversation with atleast once daily, when you havnt heard from them all day, except a 45 sec call to say hey, and they will call you back, just to tell you they are going to sleep, or their phone is on roam, but get angry if you suggest calling the hotel room phone to talk.

How should this be handled and what do you think about this

Last night he was supposed to call me, but didnt. I called his hotel room at 1am, and his sister said he's gone. I waited called at 3am, and he still gone. Everything down there closes at 2am, and some places closed earlier that night. He doesnt have a car to drive any where.

so what would you think and do?

  1. not every day but every couple of days would be normal for me

  2. I wouldn't worry about it. I know I like my space and if my girlfriend made it a point to call every day like clockwork I'd probably crack. Plus, he might think you don't trust him...and that's not good.

  3. I would definitely get worried myself in such a situation. But hey, for all you know, it's just an innocent mistake and he probably just didn't think of calling you - guys usually can't think about more than one thing at a time! Him not calling you definitely does not mean that he does not love you either. Next time, leave him a message saying  you are worried about him and wondering if he is okay. That will show that you care about him without being nagging. And if he still does not call you back, you can start the fight when he gets back :-)

  4. even if one of us isn't out of town, we call each other daily.  if you care about someone, you'd call them to see how they are-even at least once a day.

  5. I would ask him next time he calls you, not try to figure it out now. You've got enough info to know when he wasn't in the room and everything. He should tell you where he was but you don't want to seem like a nag by calling all of the time. You don't have to be out at a place to be out of the room. Some of my best times traveling were spent walking the streets with my friends after everything was closed.

It should be a point to call and check in, but it is disruptive to the other people on the trip if one person is having phone calls of a length. It is boring to listen to other people's phone calls.
