  1. Seek and you shall find, knock and the door shall be opened.  Some people just go about life like donkeys or mules, not doing or learning much, and one day it's all gone.  Others have the courage to feel the pain of life more intensely because they choose to become awake and aware, and seek answers, ultimatley finding an eternal fate and destiny.

  2. Contemplating meaning in life, I think, implies that you're trying to involve religion.  Some will say there's no point to life, which is an atheistic approach... others will contemplate the meaning of life through information and teachings from the bible or otherwise.  So obviously for some it'd be pointless and for others it may be a life's ambition to contemplate its meaning.

I personally believe it's not practical to contemplate meaning in why we exist.

  3. Yes, it is.  We're here because of a bunch of random chance.  Eventually, the human race will disappear.  Your individual life, no matter what you do, means nothing in the so-called grand scheme of things.  To contemplate the meaning of life would be to waste that life - you've only got 70 or 80 years of existance, why waste it thinking why you're here when people have already figured out that there isn't a reason?

  4. Never.

Your questioning brings you to more questions...perhaps in life one must open the book of questions in order to find a more braud spectrum of answers. I assume since you are contemplating "life" that you are discovering things that may have upset or surprised you - this is always a step forward. What I should state now is that questioning will not always bring you the answers you would like to hear, to be curious about life is the begining of self-search.

What you must realise is that the search for the meaning of life is also the need to know thyself.

I am not religious, nor do I preach, but I do believe in one force of life that will conspire to acknowledge your questioning and that is "CHANGE" - for one must seak new angles in order to find new perspectives.

Your question will make you more conscious, more aware, more understanding, perhaps more compassionate and in the end you will learn more about the world from the sheer need to understand yourself.

Advice: Be honest with yourself always and light & truth will come to you.

  5. It's not  pointless, but I see your point...

  6. what do you want the meaning of your life to be...

Do you want meaning or not?

  7. It's pointless if you want a definite irrefutable answer... we're never going to know for sure.

But it's not pointless if you are figuring yourself out... forming your own beliefs about why we're here and how you should be spending your life.

  8. Dobby has found the meaning of life:

    Gollum

    Formula 1

    Jonas Brothers

    Obama

    shoes

    Green

    Triangles

    Teletubbies

    See..very very pointless, and pointfull!!

  9. Yes. Life has no point.

  10. It is NOT pointless, but yet, it really has no answer to anyone but YOU.

If there is no point, then why don't all these posturing chowderheads just kill themselves now? Answer: because they've got too many people to browbeat and annoy with their pseudo-intellectualism. Hence, their meaning of life . . . .

Hopefully you will realize the meaning of YOUR life will be something significant, and you've answered your unanswerable question.

This is why Addams says: 42. It's as good as any other answer if you have to have one.
