Who invented the atomic bomb????? PLEASE tell me. Its important. My brother told me that if i knew who invented it, he would give me his mp3. (in other words (pls say einstein)) PLEASE!

Fission was demonstrated first in Germany, and it was reported in the literature. Leo Szilard of Hungary put together a concept for a bomb, and took it to the British for a patent; they ignored it. He went to US and influenced Pres Roosevelt thru contacts with Einstein and others. The Pres understood the implications of the proposal and called for action. Work started slowly in 1939. The Manhattan Project defined all the activity that lead to the bomb.

It wasn't Einstein. His theories laid the groundwork for the bomb but it wasn't him. The first functional bomb was made by a group of scientists in the States called the Manhattan Project.
