Current scientific thinking is that it alters the frontal lobe and schizverital cortex along with the brain chemical hoosaflichen, which in turn impedes your judgement  for the method and angle of kicking seeds out of  watermelons, pulling legs off of spiders, AND the ever popular speed with which boats travel.  Be mindful that another horrendous yet comical side effect is the deadly "stinkus fartus".  Happy motoring!
