it is growing from under his beak on the right side and comes up to a point. his beak is too long also. I know it can be dangerous to clip their beaks but should I try to clip this weird beak like growth? Its about a half inch long . He bites but will let me handle him with a glove on.

  1. Since he is a new bird for you, it is a good idea to make him an appointment an avian vet. They will check him over, and clip his beak, wings, and nails for you! Also, to avoid future beak overgrowth, get him a cuttle bone. You can find them at a pet store. Provide him with plenty of treats, greens, and toys. I assume whoever you got him from did not care for him well, or his beak would not be overgrown. It may take awhile for him to get used to new things, and treats in his cage, but keep putting them in, even if it takes him weeks to explore!
