Yesterday i read a book about facts, its said that Graham Bell didnt invent the telephone, but Antonio Meucci?

Im confused, so did Graham bell invent the telephone, or Antonio Meucci??

  1. Well, that may depend on your ethnic heritage or the country you live in to some degree. Because it is possible for more than one person to come up with the same idea in roughly the same moment in time, there could have been more than one inventor of the telephone.


  2. Many inventions were invented simultaneously in different parts of the world by people working separately. We count Alexander Graham Bell as the inventor in America as he was the first to receive a patent in the US for the telephone. It's possible that Antonio Meucci may have invented his before Bell did, but Meucci's invention wasn't the basis for Bell's telephone, and it was not the basis for phone service in this country. So I would still give Graham credit.

    We take for granted that we know who invented what, but in many countries, they have their own inventors and their own stories.
