  1. While mollies and neons will do fine together, mollies need at least thirty gallons, and neons need a well established tank. So, if you can't get a larger tank, it's best you trade in your mollies for platies, smaller, but just as pretty, and less fragile.

  2. i had two many fish at once but most of them died so if i were you i would just get a second fish tank and put the neon's in one and the mollies in the other

  3. You might have too many neon tetras. Maybe you should take some out...

  4. It depends on the size of your tank. The general rule is one inch of fish per gallon of water.

Mollies and neons should be compatiable together since they are both tropical community fish. Neon tetras are a little on the delicate side and you definitely want to make sure your tank is fully cycled before adding them to your tank. It should be another 4-6 weeks before you finish the tank cycle and develop enough good bacteria to eat up any decomposing fish waste.

Keep in mind most tropical fish you find in stores are tank bred. That means they are able to withstand a greater variety of water conditions. Stability is key to keeping fish. The mollies and neons should have no problems with different water conditions than what they are "native" to.

  5. You shouldn't add any more fish until your tank has cycled.  2 weeks only puts it about 1/2 way through so you need to be checking your ammonia levels because right about now they should be at there peak.

10 gallons isn't really big enough for 2 mollies and 6 tetra's.  The mollies will get to be a minimum of about 3" each and if they are male and female will reproduce like crazy.

  6. they will definately be fine together.

  7. If it is a 10 gallon tank they should be able to get along with each other.the temprature and the PH is fine. It shouldn't be two many fish if it is 10 gallon it will give them plenty of space to swim. They are both comunity fish so the should be fine together.

  8. tetras like soft, acidic water while mollies like hard, alkaline water. While they might be compatible temperament-wise, they don't have compatible water requirements.

  9. sounds like a good setup!

you can put neons with mollies they will be fine you may want to decrease the ph level down to 7.0 (with the ph down chemical)  to more  accomadate the neons cause they prefer slightly acidic water, so if you lower it to neutral that would be good.

your tank will not be overcrowded but you shouldnt put any more fish in after you add the neons cause they like a lot of swimming space.

  10. Mollies do better in brackish water but yes they will do fine together as they are both community fish.  The only thing I will say is I hope you want more mollies as they breed very easily.( But you will also find that they will suffer from whit spot.) Just make sure that the young aren't eaten by the parents.  The rest of your set up is fine for now.

  11. I used to have a 10 gallon tank with about 15 mollies (most of which came after I bought 2-3 mollies) and a few tetras.  They did fine together, especially with a little bit of aquarium salt.  I still have some of my tetras, but most of my mollies and platties and guppies eventually died out.
