Question:

Yet another important question about oregon family law?

Custodial parent (father) lives in oregon

non custodial parent (mother) lives in Washington

Mother lost custody due to some unfortunate things that had happened in the past but has worked through them and is doing great.

While the mother and father were together (never married though) the father was quite abusive to the mother, beatings, verbally abusive, repeatedly raped.

Mother never called the police. She should have.

Even though they are no longer together (have not been in 11 years now) and the father has custody of the child he is still VERY verbally abusive to the mother. The mother has had it. Can she get a restraining order against him even under theese circumstances?

Thanks.

  1. A restraining order is not what she needs, at least not in this case. Because they share a child, she needs a protective order. If she gets a restraining order she, essentially, will cut her own throat.
