Italy chief medic reveals that the Villarreal striker is distraught at the new injury that has ruled him out for six months; insists Cassano’s return after heart surgery is delightful.

The Villarreal striker has been out of the action for six months, and was eying a return to fitness and form before start of the European tournament. Unfortunately, the Italian ace suffered another blow to the same right knee ligament,
and is ruled out of the game for another six months.
The chief medic for Italy’s International team revealed that he has been in contact with the striker on the phone, and revealed that the aggressor is devastated by the unfortunate development. He relented praise for the player,
and insisted that the injury is a matter of great sorrow for everyone.
While talking to the press, the surgeon said:
“This is a terrible blow for the athlete and the man, who I really care about. He’s a splendid lad and this setback gives us all great pain. I had spoken to him only two days ago and he said he felt good.”
The doctor stated that the player has told him that a banal trauma was the cause of the setback, but he insisted that it would be inappropriate to comment on the situation, without getting more specific details about the problem.

“He will have to undergo another operation and wait those six months to get back to playing football.” He added.

Professor Castellacci went on to say that the return of Cassano after the worrying heart surgery is splendid news. The doctor insisted that the complications in the forward’s medical matter had put his career under a lot of risk,
but seeing him make a strong comeback is a satisfying sight for him.
The Italian striker is now expected to regain his match fitness before the start of Euro 2012.
