Yahoo is getting super annoying, my question didn't post!! But anyway, has anyone ever had a cake made with tofu in it, if you have was it good? Did it give the cake more fluffiness? Any recipes?

  1. I would try soft silken tofu.

  2. It's really tasty! It makes it super moist! soooo goood.

Also grated extra firm tofu is great on pizza.

^_^ I may not be vegetarian or vegan, but god I love tofu. You can use it for everything. Vegan food is every bit as delicious as omnivorous food.

  3. I made brownies once with tofu and carob and they were amazing. The cakes I've tried are pretty good but they're a little more dense than regular cakes. If you'd like I can give you the brownie recipe.

There are tons of recipes for vegan cakes around but I haven't seen any with tofu.

  4. The best chocolate cake I've ever eaten was made with silken tofu and soy milk.  I first tasted it at  a 4th of July Potluck we threw in Raleigh a couple years ago. I tweaked the recipe for myself to make it a little healthier now that I'm baking it occasionally.

The only things I do different when I make it  are using whole wheat flour instead of the white and hemp milk instead of soy.  That's just I me.  I have a thing for fiber and don't like to overdue soy.

  5. Yes, but you need to use the silken tofu, not the kind you use in stir-fry.

I made this coconut cake for my anti-dairy vegan friend, it was ok, but me, the non-vegan thought it was not quite the same as full fat cake :)
