Question:

Yet another question concerning Mormons...?

Why is the subject of Mormons' underclothing so fascinating to people who are obviously more bent on ridiculing than understanding the LDS people? LDS considered them sacred and part of the covenants they make with God. Do other religions not make covenants with God or have things to symbolize those promises? What's the big deal? Why all the disrespect?

  1. Mormons believe they will become Gods someday and be as Jesus Christ. WRONG

    Mormons dont like the verse

    Isaiah 43:10

You are My witnesses,” says the LORD,

And My servant whom I have chosen,

That you may know and believe Me,

And understand that I am He.

Before Me there was no God formed,

Nor shall there be after Me

    --------------------------------------...

Isnt it true that Mormons believe they will become Gods some day. They believe that Jesus and Satan were brothers.

How about the fact that Mormons believe that the book of mormon has never been shown or that there is proof of its existance.

He would put his face in a hat and reveal a translation.

cmon, seriousley, please open your eyes and see how Satan is fooling you.

I recommend you open your heart to the fact that you might be wrong and research it.

for an example, go to www.godtube.com and view some great videos on mormonsism.

I mean this as no disrespect as well. I just want you to get the correct information.

  2. pride and arogance i think play a large part. maybe some others just have convertitis and feel they must convert everybody else. then you have those who are just bullys.

you have to admit that having sacred undies does sound a little odd in spite of its symbolism for most people. ;)

imam ali said that we often fear that which we dont understand. ive also noticed that fear is often manifested in anger.

  3. Mormons don't like what verse, Nathan?

You don't understand Mormons if you insist that.

People that worry about other people's underwear don't either.

  4. When people are insecure with their own faith (or chosen lack thereof), they try to make themselves feel better about their own choices by belittling, or poking fun at, the beliefs of others. And if they can get others to do the same thing, that just strengthens their own self-validation.

And our temple garments present the PERFECT target, because they know that we won't talk that much about it, because it's just too sensitive and sacred a subject. Like talking about s*x with your spouse. Some people just won't or can't do it because it's just too personal and, yes, even sacred.

  5. Yeah, we all have a fun time with the pope's hat too..

The big deal is, it is underwear.. Something that people have made fun of for decades even when it was not regarding Mormons...  The entire sacred quality makes it only more funny.

I mean think about it.. Who besides Mormons finds underwear sacred?  It's pretty damned funny when you think about it.
