CSKA failed to sell their attacking midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Keisuke-Honda-c20516, to Italian outfit Lazio during the transfer window, as the deal collapsed after weeks of negotiations.
The Armeytsy management valued Honda at 15 million Euros, but Lazio only offered a paltry 7 million, much to the disappointment of the CSKA management.
In the aftermath of the collapsed deal, the Koni president, Yevgeni Giner, has hailed Honda’s contributions at the Moscow-based club by admitting that the Japanese playmaker has always been an important player.
“It seemed that the Roman club had done us a favour by offering a funny amount. Such a sum, in my opinion, is ridiculous to even articulate. If they want to sign the classy midfielder, they need to come up with a price close to
the market valuation.” The president was quoted as saying.
He went on to reveal that CSKA are happy that the deal didn't gone through because they need Honda for the rest of the Russian Premier League and the UEFA Champions League campaign.
Speaking on the latest arrivals, Wernbloom and Musa, Giner said:
“Musa is a young and promising player. I have no doubt that Musa will soon show his skill and ability. Wernbloom is a good footballer. He scored a goal against Real Madrid and it will give him a lot of confidence.” Giner concluded.
Giner assured the fans that Musa will adjust to his new club and admitted that the Nigerian striker was a little confused in his debut Champions League game against the Spanish outfit.
