yes very different. and not good. they are at different maturities. when i was in yr 10 i was worried about going out with a year 12. lol even now i am a bit worried and im in yr 11 bout 2 start year 12!

Yes, it's a big age difference. Year 9 is fourteen years old. Just started puberty, still basically a child no matter how "mature" they think they are. Year 12 is seventeen, pretty close to adulthood.

I can't imagine any reason why a responsible seventeen year old would want to date a fourteen year old - but I can image a whole lot of rather unpleasant ones, starting with wanting a nice bit of eye candy on his arm who will do exactly as she's told, and ending with wanting to have s*x.

Lolly, you mean year 9 in school (freshman) and a year 12 (senior) dating.

I'm sorry but a 14 year old is much too young to date an 17/18 year old.  I can't imagine that a senior in High school would want to date a freshman.

YOU FRICKIN IDIOTS hes from the uk, so year 9 and year 12 means:

9th grade--Their just starting the going out is bacially kissing, going to the movies, holding hands, going to the others house.

12th grade-Kissing in publc, holding hands, going to the movies, thinking about doing it., sneaking out late, spending the night at the others house.

if those are your children, i would give them a close curfew, maybe the one in 9th grade would have to come home like 1 or 2 hours earlier.
