Yfz 450 or raptor 660?????

Question

ok i was thinking about a 2004 yamaha yfz450 or a 2003 yamaha raptor 660 because there both about the same price used and i ride in trails im never on the track i hill climb alot i was liking the yfz but sence its a race quad i dont know how long it will last because my cousin has one that blew up 2 times in 3 years and he hasnt had any probs with any of his other yamaha"s i was thinking maybe he just ddoent know how to drive it but i know the raptor is dependable because his is older than the yfz but it allso has reverse so im just stumped.....

the Raptor will probably take more abuse and last longer. That would be my bet.

That is a tough call, I like them both.  I would take the raptor in your case, just for the reverse gear.  It gets old getting off and pulling every time you get stuck or get in a tight spot.

I'd go for the Raptor in your case strictly. If you can afford it, the 700R is quite a lot better, but it does cost more.

Pros and Cons.

The YFZ has more maintenace and is probably less reliable.

The 660 has about same power but is more durable.

The YFZ is lighter and easier to flick around.
