Ying Lu snares Women’s 100m butterfly gold – 2012 Chinese National Swimming Championships
Ying Lu of Shanghai snared gold medal of the Women’s 100m butterfly on third day of the 2012 Chinese National Long Course Swimming Championship in Huangshan, Anhui Province on Tuesday, September 25.
Lu smothered her challenges with her gruelling pace in the double lap discipline. She faced no trouble from her opponents throughout the discipline and emerged on the finishing end for gold medal.
Lu remained comfortably ahead of her opponents throughout the discipline and paved her way to the finishing wall for the crown. With her unrelenting efforts, she remained half a body length ahead of her challengers and touched the wall for the title with
a timing of 58.78 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Lan Liu of Chinese Navy, who was 0.54 seconds behind and accomplished silver medal of the event by clocking an effort of 59.32 seconds.
Liu was traced by Jie Gong of Guangzhou Army, who stayed 0.33 seconds away from upsetting her preceding swimmer and posted a time of 59.65 seconds for bronze medal.
Afterwards, Fan Yin of Shanghai clinched gold medal of the Women’s 50m freestyle. Yin showed no leniency to her opponents in the single lap freestyle event and proved her eligibility for gold medal.
With her incredible performance in the shortest freestyle event, Yin remained one arm stroke behind and surfaced on the wall with a timing of 25.26 seconds for the title.
The champion was chased by her teammate, Wen Xu, who remained 0.19 seconds away from upsetting her over the finishing wall and tapped the wall with an effort of 25.45 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Ying Zhang of Guangdong, who was marginally slower from improving her position and ended third.
Zhang suffered a deficit of 0.04 seconds from her preceding swimmer and hit the wall with a timing of 25.49 seconds.
In addition, Lu and Yin were extremely pleased with their title claiming efforts in their exclusive events and raked medals for their notable efforts after the session. Furthermore, they also shared their desire of making their fans proud at the superior
levels of swimming.
