Ying Suet Tse beats Sashina Vignes Waran in Women’s Singles qualifying round at Swiss Open GP Gold
Hong Kong’s Ying Suet Tse showed her elevated craft as she defeated Sashina Vignes Waran of France in Women’s Singles qualifying round of Swiss Open GP Gold 2012 on Tuesday, March 13, in Switzerland.
Ying Suet had to employ all of her skills to overpower her spirited French opponent and managed to win the fight in hard-fought three games.
On the other hand, Sashina also put up wonderful show of quality badminton but could not dominate the pace in the deciding game and lost the battle in rubber games.
In the first set of this contest, Ying Suet showed a wonderful aggression as she played to her maximum speed and managed to set up an early lead.
She played with variations and remained ahead on the score board at 11-5 until the end of first half.
After the break, Ying Suet continued her positive play and did not spare any room for her opponent to level the score at any stage of the game. She managed to win the first game with a six-point difference of 21-15.
In the second game, Sashina showed her brilliance as she played fast and planned badminton and took a superb lead until the break by reaching at 11-4.
Ying Suet could not cope up with the aggression of her rival in this game as she dropped her speed and remained struggling in the court.
In the concluding half of second game, Ying Suet remained behind as she could not bridge the gap and lost the set with a one-sided score of 9-21.
In the deciding set, Ying Suet changed her strategy and started to play flat strokes. She did not spare any chance for her challenger to dictate the pace of rallies and set up an 11-6 lead until the break.
After the interval, the Hong Kong lady remained in complete control and continued playing positive badminton. She did not miss any chance to earn points and ended the second set with a four-point advantage of 21-17.
This Women’s Singles qualifying-round contest ended with the victory of Ying Suet Tse who overpowered her French rival with a 21-15, 9-21 and 21-17 score on the board.
