The Chinese looked in great form in her opening match at the tournament as she required only 1 hour and 33 minutes dispatching her opponent.
Un-seeded at the ITF tournament, Duan looked to attack her opponent right from the start of the match. In the first set, she broke the serve twice to dent her opponent’s confidence levels. Hsu did broke back once to stay in the set
but she could stop her opponent from earning a well deserved set score lead 1-0.

to her game score advantage to seal an emphatic victory.
Duan was absolutely delighted with her effort and aimed to put up a similar show in her upcoming matches as well. Hitting an impressive 68 per cent first serve, she managed to win crucial points by taking control of the points. Hsu
on the other hand made too many unforced errors including five costly double faults, which proved to be the real difference between the two players at the end of the day.
In another match at the ITF tournament, number five seed Tetiana Luzhanska of Ukraine came back from a set deficit to defeat local Yi-Fan Xu 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 to book a second round berth.
