Yixin Bao and Zhong Qianxin clinch Women’s Doubles crown at the 2011 Japan Open Super Series
China’s spirited shuttlers, Yixin Bao and Zhong Qianxin clinched their first Women’s Doubles crown of the current year by beating higher ranked pair of Cheng Wen Hsing and Chien Yu Chin of Chinese Taipei in the final of the 2011 Japan Open Super Series,
in Japan on Sunday, September 25.
World Number 90 ranked duo, Yixin and Qianxin left for home with pride as they have made their presence strongly felt in the arena of badminton. They have been delivering superb performances for the last few months and finally achieved the much needed breakthrough
in the Japan Open.
In the final contest against World Number Five pair of Wen Hsing and Yu Chin, the Chinese duo displayed their wonderful skills as they played terrific badminton and won the battle in rubber games by fighting in the court for 77 minutes.
In the first set, Yixin and Qianxin failed to deliver well against the higher ranked Taipei shuttlers, as they made many mistakes throughout the set. They could not dominate the game at the net as their opponents were quicker in picking the bird from the
tape of the net. The Chinese lost the first set without putting up a strong show by the margin of 13-21, in 25 minutes.
The second set of this title-match was absolutely wonderful, as both sides played flawless badminton and progressed equally without creating a considerable gap at any stage of the game. The score reached at the thrilling stage of 23-23, when the young Chinese
duo played aggressive badminton and won the set with a dramatic score of 25-23 in 30 minutes.
The deciding set of the match was one-sided as Yixin and Qianxin dominated the game and kept a firm grip over the pace of the rallies. They spared no chance for their experienced opponents in the whole set and ended it with a remarkable difference of 21-13,
by taking 22 minutes in the court.
The Chinese ladies won the final contest in 77 minutes with the margin of 13-21, 25-23 and 21-12.
