The Bordeaux striker has been in fine form for the Aquitaine club this season and with his contract set to expire next June, the Frenchman could be set to a move across the Channel
Ligue 1 outfit, FC Girondins de Bordeaux striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yoan-Gouffran-c37412 is seriously considering leaving the club by the end of the current campaign in a bid to secure a move to the English Premier League.
The 26-year-old striker’s contract with the Ligue 1 outfit is set to expire next summer and with talks of a new contract ongoing, possibility of moving to English Premier League remains.
While talking to the media regarding his future at the club, the striker admitted that he is currently negotiating an extension with club president Jean-Louis Triaud but said that he is yet to make up his mind as he always wanted to play in the Premier League.
“We are in talks with the club and the president. We’ll see in a few days if I make a decision. For now, nothing is sure. I always said that I wanted to try playing in the Premier League and discover something else.”
Reports claim that English outfits Aston Villa FC and Sunderland are keen on recruiting the Reunion-born striker who scored 14 goals in the league for the residents of Stade Chaban Delmas last season.
And, the player says that he wants to test his skills elsewhere as he feels that the time is right for him to leave the Aquitaine region in a bid to experience something else. Furthermore, the player has a lot of friends at the club who could influence a
future move to the shores of England.
“I need appropriate offers, I need a great challenge. If I leave Bordeaux, I want to play. I’m thinking maybe it’s the right time to leave. I’ve been at Bordeaux for five years, it’s maybe time to experience something else.”
“I have friends in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 who talked to me about this league and it’s making me want to go there.”
However, Triaud would hate to see such an important player leave the club as a free agent just like Chamakh who joined http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 for free a few seasons back so a contract extension might be a solution for both parties.
