Yoan Pablo Hernandez optimistic about making a quick recovery – Boxing news
Yoan Pablo Hernandez, the current IBF cruiserweight champion, is optimistic about making a comeback to the ring after undergoing a successful surgery and a series of rehabilitation programs.
The 27-year-old put these comments forth recently. Hernandez has brought much respect to his country and emphatically rules the cruiserweight division. The young southpaw has thrown himself in a total of 27 bouts and since the inception of his career has
lost just one bout.
According to the tidings that made their due place in the media before Hernandez’s operation, the Cuban was reported to have a broken left hand. The injury arose when Pablo was beating Steve Cunningham vehemently with his punches in a 12-round skirmish held
on February 4, 2012. Pablo was able to collect a unanimous win but his hand started to swell.
When the puffiness did not reduce at all, he was taken to a physician who after careful analysis revealed that the left hand is broken and a surgery is required at the earliest. The surgery was conducted successfully and now the energetic Cuban is willing
to make a huge comeback as soon as possible.
Pablo while sharing his thoughts said that in the fourth round when he connected two well targeted fists thrown at Steve, an intense wave of pain in his left hand joint shivered him. Yoan said that he initially ignored it and continued to fight because he
thought that it was a normal situation.
The young brawler commented, “That´s when it happened. When I walked back into my corner, I felt that something was wrong. But in boxing it is not unusual to feel pain in your hands. And after fights it´s quite normal that the hands hurt. I am happy that
I defeated a world-class opponent and gave the fans a great fight. I will be back as soon as possible.”
Pablo continued and said that later on when the swelling increased he got a bit worried and consulted his physician who immediately advised a surgery since his hand was broken. Pablo has been prescribed a seven-week rest to the left hand after that he can
start his sparring sessions slowly.
