Former Lyon coach Claude Puel while talking to Progress said that it was a shame for Gourcuff to be injured ahead of the start of the new campaign. Gourcuff’s quality.
However, Gourcuff’s performances for Les Gones so far this season have been far from satisfactory. The midfielder also scored a brilliant goal in the Rhone Derby against AS Saint-Etienne and his overall performance in that game showed why there are still
a lot of chances for him to return to his best soon.
While talking to RMC, the midfielder finally spoke about his performances.
“Sometimes substitutes say hello to their families in the stands and are not concentrating. Since I arrived in Lyon, there has been a keen eye on everything I do or say, I’ve seen this. It’s sad but true. The media highlight my personality, it’s true that
I’m pretty quiet and reserved. But it’s my nature! I like that. A group of 26-27 players have their own personality,” Gourcuff said after getting tired of listening about his own personality from the media week in week out.
Reports claim that Gourcuff is attracting interest from Arsenal but the playmaker says that he is not thinking about any move away from the Stade de Gerland for now. The 25-year-old said that he is solely concentrating on doing the best for Lyon and go to
the Euro 2012 with France next summer.
