I'm a goshin ryu jujutsu practioner (combining elements of bjj, judo, & muay thai). I want to begin yoga to help my game and get in better fighting shape.

Can you share any good yoga resources (youtube, books, websites) or poses I can perform?

  1. Yes, for sure! Practicing yoga you'll be more focused, concentrated and very energetic. Here is a good free yoga e-course for you:

  2. Yoga is good for flexibility.....

But I've never heard of Yoga being effective in a gang rape type of situation.....

Just kidding.  That is an actual line from a hilarious movie called:  "The Foot Fist Way"

  3. I cant suggest any sites except use google or use stumble upon but I agree that yoga is excellent as a supplement to martial arts as I used it myself many years back along with james lews book " The art of stretching and kicking" and within 6mths exercising 2hrs a day I achieved the box splits and could kick as good as anyone.

Only my humble opinion ( sorry for the rant )

    Best wishes :)***

  4. I wouldn't consider myself a trained martial artist, but I do practice Ashtanga Yoga and Namaste Yoga. It is amazing for flexibility, strength, and endurance. People actually underestimate my strength because my muscles are not large, so they sorta let their guard down. There are plenty  of resources online.

  5. There is a dvd called yoga for martial arts available that is pretty good
