Question:

Yoga sun salutations?

If I repeat this sun salutation for twenty minutes a day is this enough for aerobic fitness and toning up?

Or should I do it for longer? I also do a basic sequence once a day:

  1. Sun salutation is a great exercise for energy busting, focus and keeping your body flexible! Yes it helps also with toning up your body.

    But, I advice to practice many other good yoga poses as well! All the yoga poses have many benefits.

  2. Yes, Sun Salutation can be aerobic, you probably work up a sweat doing the sequence of 12 poses one after the other without stopping for 20 minutes or more. For sure that's aerobic.


  3. No! yoga is much more stretching than it is exercise. Yoga is good to do and  I encourage you to do it. but for aerobics and muscle toning you should try jogging and weight lifting instead of the sun salutation! And by the way, when doing yoga, mix it up! there are sooooooo many poses do more then the sun salutation and it will be better for your health!
