Influential Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has expressed his delight over Magpies extraordinary start to the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season.
However, the French midfielder believes that Alan Pardew’s men will now face a tough test in the upcoming matches against the Manchester clubs and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
The St. James Park outfit has started the current campaign impressively, being one of the two teams which have stayed unbeaten in the Premier League so far. They are currently placed third in the league standings, three points above fourth placed Chelsea.
Moreover, Alan Pardew’s men have won five of their last six Premier League matches and are in good form. Newcastle United will face Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, Manchester United at Old Trafford and Chelsea at St. James Park, in a set of fixtures which
could bring the Magpies back down to earth. Cabaye feels that the Toons will find out how good they are in these matches.
Cabaye believes that Newcastle United’s impressive performances in the first two matches, especially against Arsenal and Sunderland, helped them gain confidence which stretched their undefeated run in the league.
The 25-year-old told the reporters, “We got off to a good start with the draw against Arsenal and winning the derby away against Sunderland.”
The Frenchman has hailed the Magpies defence for putting up a strong display so far in the season. The Toons have conceded only eight goals, and Cabaye believes that the solidity in defence has helped the team.
“The fact we've conceded very few goals has really boosted our confidence. We have 25 points and we're still unbeaten, and that's great to have that heading into the international break,” the former Lille midfielder added.
After the international break, Newcastle United have a daunting task of facing top three English teams.
“But when we come back we're playing City at their place, United at their place, then we've got Chelsea at home; after that we'll really know how good we are,” Cabaye concluded.
Newcastle United have gained 25 points from 11 matches so far in the Barclays Premier League.
