Can anyone help who knows about this new network? A friend of mine who lives in Spain has purchased a Sony Ericsson mobile with this new network called 'Yoigo'... All seems great and very inexpensive and she can text within Spain but can't receive messages from the UK or send to???

Any ideas why or is this new network exclusive to Spain?

  4. Yoigo (short for 'Yo oigo', Spanish for 'I hear') is the fourth mobile phone operator with a network of its own in Spain. They operate a UMTS/3G network, which at their launch (dec. 2006) had very limited UMTS (3G) coverage to some of the biggest cities.

Originally the carrier was named Xfera. On October 2006, they announced the launch of the commercial service in December under its new brand Yoigo. The new name was chosen to reflect the simplicity in rates and ease of use of their services. They started with a single type of tariff that made no distinctions between the number you called or the time when you placed the call: 12 cents per minute at any time and in any destination in Spain.
