Yolane Kukla captures Girls 100m butterfly gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Yolane Kukla of Arena captured gold medal of the Girls 100m butterfly in 17-18 years old category on day three of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Thursday, April 11.
The 17-year-old Kukla showed no mercy to her challengers in the 100m discipline and cruised her way towards the finishing end for first position. Kukla faced no competition from her following swimmer over the finishing end and emerged on the wall for first
position.
She stayed marginally ahead of her following swimmer and transpired on the wall for gold medal with an effort of 59.16 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Chris Licciardi of Melbvicentre, who stayed 0.23 seconds slower and surfaced on the wall for silver medal with an effort of 59.39 seconds.
Third position of the race was obtained by Samantha Abbott of UNSW, who was nearly one second behind and cruised her way towards the finishing end for bronze medal with an effort of 1 minute and 01.26 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Samantha Wilkins of Waterlions, who was only 0.08 seconds apart and settled on the finishing blockade with the timing of 1 minute and 01.34 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Danae Okulicz of Arena, who was nearly half body length slower from her preceding swimmer and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 01.88 seconds.
Sixth spot of the race was obtained by Emma Duncan of Marion, who was only 0.47 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 02.35 seconds.
Seventh position of the event was obtained by Georgia Miller of Carlile, who was 0.28 seconds behind and posted an effort of 1 minute and 02.63 seconds.
Eighth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Lauren Wilson of Ryde-Carlile, who was nearly 0.40 seconds behind and clocked a time of 1 minute and 03.06 seconds.
In addition, Kukla expressed happiness over her victory in the event and collected accolades at the prize ceremony of the race.
