Yonex All England Open: Spirited Li Han demolishes Pui Yin Yip in Women’s Singles first round
China’s spirited player Li Han found a perfect start in Women’s Singles first round where she easily showed exit to Hong Kong’s Pui Yin Yip at the Yonex All England Open Badminton Championships 2013 on Wednesday, March 6, in England.
The impressive Han, who has been surprising the world with her tremendous skills in the recent months, played with superb speed in this opening round clash and she easily defeated Pui Yin in straight games in a lopsided manner in just 33 minutes.
Chinese lady was in tremendous form as she played flawless badminton showing no mercy to her challenger and easily managed to wrap up a spectacular victory in straight games with an excellent 21-12 and 21-9 score on the board.
On the contrary, Pui Yin was completely helpless against the power play of her Chinese challenger. She failed to keep up the pace of rallies and eventually became an easy prey to Han by losing the match in straight sets.
Han showed a wonderful aggression on court from the starting points of first game by creating a remarkable pressure on her opponent.
Chinese lady showed that she has got top quality skills on court and remained successful in getting a strong position in the arena.
Han did not show any sign of confusion as she remained in complete command of the pace until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game break, Han stayed focused in the arena and remained successful in maintaining a comfortable gap.
Han continued employing powerful shots in targeted areas and eventually bagged the opening game with a stunning 21-12 total on the score board.
Things were not much different in the second game of this interesting match as Han played in the similar aggressive way and remained miles ahead on the board.
The well directed smashes and net killings kept Han ahead of her opponent all the way until the one-minute interval in second game.
Pui Yin failed to put up strong show in the second set of this fight as her challenger Han played positive badminton and clinched the game with a one-sided 21-9 margin on the board.
