Men’s Singles first round of the 2011 Yonex Chinese Taipei Open, in Sinjhuang City, Chinese Taipei, on Wednesday, September 7.
Yan Kit is presently placed at Number 36 in the world rankings of Men’s Singles and he is also the number 12
seed in the draw of the Taipei Open. He showed his superior skills of the game while playing against the Malaysian, who failed to stop the impressive run of the higher ranked shuttler from Hong Kong.
Yan Kit took just 19 minutes in the court to thrash out Victor Jing in a straight-set battle and proved that he belongs to a different class of players. His effective planning and flawless execution of strokes against the Malaysian indicated that he is not
far away from the top shuttlers of the world in the Men’s Singles category.
The Hong Kong shuttler started his journey against the Malaysian in scintillating manner. His incredible speed and anticipation coupled with perfect execution of strokes earned him an 11-6 lead in the opening half of the game.
After the break, Yan Kit continued his roller-coaster run in the match as Victor Jing could not cope up with the impressive speed of his challenger. The passionate Hong Kong player kept the pace of the rallies high to avoid giving any chance to his rival
to get back into the game. Yan Kit maintained his hold in the game and won the set in just 11 minutes with a 21-11 score.
The second game was a nightmare for the Malaysian as Yan Kit was miles ahead by playing flawless badminton. The number 12 seed was everywhere in the court and his fast and smooth movement earned him a big advantage over his opponent who was playing a shaky
game.
Yan kit grabbed the second game with an incredible difference of 21-7, in just 8 minutes. This one-sided battle ended in straight sets of 19 minutes with the score of 21-11 and 21-7.
